FLORIDA Jensen Beach High School and BOOKMANIA! January 23, 2009
Hallie gave a crash course in mystery writing at Jensen Beach High. Here I am, about to go on stage, with principal Ginger Featherstone (I'm stealing her name for a character), the Mistress of BookMania! Judi Snyder, and Reading Coach (who organized this) Shannon Blount.
The kids were great (must be something in the water down there). BookMania! is simply one of the most delightful book festivals ever...and I got to hang out with Diane Hammond, Karin Slaughter, James Swain, Rick Bragg, Alafair Burke, and Lisa Unger. My literary escorts, Jo and Ron Vent, were gracious, smart, and generous.
